OUR HISTORY

Our commercial roots go back to 1956, the starting point for Don José María Pasarelli and Don Alberto Habie venture, fundamental pillars in this story of growth and progress.

The founders’ talent and experience allowed for the business to evolve from a fabric-trading company to one with the capacity to design, produce and sell its products, while providing supplies to the local market and opening the international market through its first exports to the United States in 1973.

In 1980 Joey Habie, the founders’ son and grandson, took over management. A graduate from the University of North Carolina with a degree in textile engineering, and an MBA honor, graduated from the Pennsylvania University Wharton School. Joey Habie transformed himself into a brilliant and ambitious leader. He fostered the company’s growth through a unique talent and an innovative, flawless vision.

Through his passion and perseverance, he accomplished his goal: to turn the company into a “textile supermarket”; i.e. a business capacity to produce and sell a wide array of products: from yarn, woven and knitted fabrics, and fabrics with printed patterns. All of this was achieved, while the Liztex brand became an iconic name in the Textile Industry. Every step and product is realized with the highest possible quality standards.

Today, the legacy and dream of Joey Habie and his ancestors remain intact: to make Liztex the best textile factory in the region and the world. By practicing a philosophy of work and service, the company keeps a full commitment to its clients towards delivering quality and excellence in all of its products.
